The Choristers
One of the few small country parish church choirs left with something
different to offer……
The above statement is absolutely true.
The choristers at Mellor are extremely committed, hard-working
people.
The social life of the choir is considered to be paramount, just as the
music is.
To obtain high standards musically, it takes an incredible amount of
enthusiasm and hard work.
To achieve the fantastic social group that the choir is requires
no work at all.
There are many social events for the choir, some singing, some
not. The
choristers are often performing concerts which involve musicians from other
institutions such as jRNCM.
Every young person who has worked with the choir have always been eager to
come back due to the warm social qualities of the group. Please feel free to
read about the concert tours—in particular the
Belgium article.
Choristers are taught basic musicianship and also the fundamentals of
singing; something essential to every developing musician.
The choir welcomes new members.
The choir
is not auditioned and open to everyone.
