The choir have also enjoyed singing in the many major cathedrals of the
UK, and are currently seeking other opportunities at home before they
depart for their next concert tour abroad in 2010.
Whilst on tour, the group try to participate in services, and indeed
have done, leading the music for the Last Post Ceremony at the Menin
Gate, and at Mass at Strasbourg cathedral– the fourth tallest church in
the world.
Due to the choir’s ethos of inclusion, young instrumentalists from
places such as the Junior Royal Northern College of Music are invited to
accompany on tour, forming a small ensemble.
Some of the instrumentalists who have joined the choir on tours
in the past have had wonderful experiences, some even saying it was the
best time of their lives! Many continue to tour with the choir.
Concert Tours
The choir has had fantastic opportunities to sing in some of Europe’s
most wonderful cathedrals and churches.
The choir have been
delivering concert tours for many years, mainly in France until recently
when they sang at venues in Belgium (2007) and the Black Forest region
of Germany (2008).
