Pentecost weekend

In the face of uncertainty this weekend we are going to....

Some of you will be aware of the new government guidance restricting amateur singing to 6 for performance and for adults in rehearsal (children unchanged).

This is inconsistent with other guidance, the overall COVID risk picture currently and a sense of phasing out restrictions. The current government position remains no restrictions after June 21st. It represents the start of most non-church choirs such as choral societies starting to sing again but would be a massive step back for church choirs like us who have been back singing (with precautions) since Easter.

I am confident that our current risk assessment is proportionate to our current position and singing as we are is safe. On that basis we are continuing as planned for this weekend at least and I have called a Choir Steering Group (CSG) meeting for Tuesday night. Please discuss and let your CSG rep know your feelings.

This weekend then remains as per the website:

Friday: Trebles in church 6.30-7.30pm, Lower Voices in church 7.45-8.45pm, Upper Voices in Parish Centre 7.45-8.45pm (Pick up music including European Anthem Book from the vestry before the rehearsal and return afterwards). Upper Voices will be self-directed this week!

Sunday: 10am service is back - Lower Voices this week. Wear something red for Pentecost!
